I found this Brown Boobook resting quietly during the day. At first, it was the bright yellow eyes that caught my attention. Then I noticed the perch and knew I had to get a few shots.

The mossy branch, clean background and soft light all came together nicely. The owl didn’t move much either, which gave me enough time to enjoy the moment and try a few different compositions.
That’s one thing I like about finding owls during the day. They can be sitting quietly somewhere you’ve walked past many times before and you might never notice them.

I stayed for a while, kept my distance and took my time with the photos. No rushing and no need to get too close.

Sometimes bird photography is just like that. You find the bird, the setting is right, the light works with you and you go home happy.
